Expeditions of Lakes and Maasai Mara 11 Nights/12 Days

Kenya is a land of variety bestowed with beautiful beaches, game parks, plains, deserts, lakes, mountains and interesting, colorful and welcoming people. A holiday here is like visiting many countries in one; some say our climate is the finest found anywhere – Kenya welcomes visitors whatever age, status or interests at any time of the year.

DAY 1

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport where our airport representative will meet you and get a briefing of your safari. Later you will be transferred to Lake Naivasha. We will be staying Fish Eagle inn/Cray fish or similar in their bandas on full board. Our activities will commence after lunch when we will ride to Hells Gate National Park – viewing flora and fauna as we ride. Our destination is Ol Njorowa Gorge from where we will walk before heading to Olkaria Geothermal Project and thereafter back to camp for showers, dinner and overnight.

DAY 2

Our ride around the lake road over sandy tracks is mainly through farmlands; there are a few ups and down but nothing too strenuous. Lunch en-route before reaching our overnight – Loldia Camp or similar overnight f/b.

DAY 3

After breakfast our ride will take us across the Eburru Hills and down to the village of Elementaita – with lunch en-route. Afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its population of greater and lesser flamingo’s, rhino and many other varieties of wildlife. Our overnight will be “Mbweha Camp” for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

Drive from Elementaita to Gilgil and we will be staying at Malewa River Lodge situated on Kigio Wildlife Conservation area for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

We will spend the day here giving participants an opportunity to go river floating, abseiling, game riding, walking or fish for trout . Dinner and overnight Malewa River Lodge.

DAY 6

Today’s journey is to Barakitabu situated next to a small stream. Once we have settled in we shall walk to our guides homestead and enjoy their hospitality, listen to their music and hear about their culture before returning to camp before nightfall for showers, dinner and overnight.

DAY 7

Today’s ride will take us across the wide open plains with the wind in our hair and the sun our backs to our camp in the Maasai Mara. Afternoon game drive returning to camp as the sunsets across the western skies to showers, dinner and overnight Olperr Elongo [maasai for Albizia gummerifera tree better known as the peacock flower tree].

DAY 8

An early breakfast before heading off into the park returning to camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive enjoying the great variety and volume of flora and fauna found in this the best of our game areas. Dinner and overnight ‘Olperr Elongo Camp’.

DAY 9

An early start to our ride that takes us across the nearby hills to a small town of Migwara and onto our camp for tonight – Ol Koroi [colobus monkey in maasai]. This ride presents great views, interesting tracks and amazing variety of forest, bush land and plains with stunning views. Dinner and overnight beside a gurgling stream – Ol Koroi.

DAY 10

Today’s ride will take us to the distant town of Morijo but we may have to uplift for the last part of our ride. The plains are forever here – as the Maasai say’ where the earth meets the sky, is the end!’ – stretching as far as the eye can see into the Serengeti and all places south. Our camp will be nestled in the valleys of the foothills of the Nguruman Mountains. Dinner and overnight Morijo.

DAY 11

Our day will be filled with walks and rides in the surrounding hills and valleys in this place of witch doctors, folklore, peace and beauty. Dinner and overnight Morijo.

DAY 12

An early breakfast bid a fond farewell to our camping crew as we ride for part of the morning, lunch en-route and thereafter load and return to Nairobi. You should arrive at approximately 5.00pm, sharing day room for showers and packing, dinner and depart for the airport for your flight arrangements.
